In 2012 Scott Boocock, founder of Hegs, was outside hanging out his wife's cocktail dress on the clothes line. Faced with endless, mundane problem of getting peg marks and creases on the dress he thought how much easier it would be if there were pegs with hooks.
Thus the idea for Hegs was born.
After finalising the concept and structure of the peg Scott began manufacturing Hegs in China. However, he wanted to keep Hegs Australian and sort to manufacture Hegs in Australia, which would make Hegs 100% Australian owned and produced.
In 2015 Scott took Hegs on the TV show Shark Tank where Red Balloon's Naomi Simson made a deal to invest and work with Hegs. Together they worked to ensure Hegs was 100% manufactured in Australia.
Today Hegs exports their Australian made product to all over the world and is partnered with Orange Sky Laundry and St Vincent de Paul to help give back to those who need it most.
